I was approached to review this kit and I had no idea what I was getting into. Moldable plastics was something I had not tried and was not familiar with. I received a 10 ounce bottle of white plastic beads and several pouches of colored beads to use to color my creation.
The process is fairly simple. Heat water, add the white plastic beads and the appropriate amount of color pellets you want to use to get the color you desire. Let the white beads turn clear, remove from the water, and start molding. It was so easy to do. I didn't have any mess and I noticed no odor of chemical or plastic of any type.
I decided to make a heart for Valentine's Day that I could hot glue to a pin back and wear at work. You can see in the video that I heated the plastic, molded it and colored it. I did have to heat it a few times to get it to where I wanted it, but the whole thing probably took me half an hour to forty five minutes. It was fun to do and it was as I have said several times, very easy. I can see myself making decorating hair clips, headbands, making earrings, pins and even pendants for necklaces. I can mold the plastic, then hot glue on any embellishments that I want to.
I think this would be great for older kids, but probably not for little children. I say this strictly because you are using a hot plastic and little children could be burned if they are not careful.
